Canvas Wash Bag - Mustard

by O-my-bag

£30.00 £25.00

These canvas wash bags are simple, good looking bags that can be used as wash bags, toiletry bags, make-up bags or shaving bags. A stylish and versatile bag with a striking, mustard coloured, canvas exterior and leather patch. Inside there is a striped cotton interior with two pockets, one open and one zip pocket. Available in Mustard or Black, the wash bag is handmade by a fair trade organisation in India. As poverty rates in India are very high, providing work is hugely helpful. In the area of Kolkata, India, every O My Bag is created in the safe and positive atmosphere of Fair Trade, where fair wages and benefits are paid, women are empowered and training and education is offered. O My Bag was created by Paulien Wesselink in 2010. Paulien believes that everybody loves a great bag and great bags are hard to find. Since she had a hard time finding the right bag - basic, elegant and a little old school, she decided to make her own bags (click here to see the rest of our bag collection). Click here to read more about O My Bag in the Designer & Makers section of our Journal.

THE DESIGNER

O-My-Bag was created by Paulien Wesselink in 2010. Paulien believes that everybody loves a great bag and great bags are hard to find. Since she had a hard time finding the right bag - basic, elegant and a little old school, she decided to make her own. Paulien travelled to India in Mid 2012 to find manufacturers, as leather is one of India’s biggest export products.

A large part of the collection is made with eco-friendly leather, meaning no harmful chemicals are used. Poverty rates in India are very high so providing work is hugely helpful. Paulien decided to only work with producers who are aligned to the World Fair Trade Organization and provide excellent conditions to their workers.
