Duo Colour Table Lamp

by Hand & Eye Studio

Designed by Tom Housden at the Hand & Eye Studio these beautiful table lamps combine a slip cast earthenware base with a matt white opal glass top. The inverted design and contrast between matt and gloss materials, with the added twist of a vibrant blue colour, make this lamp a truly distinctive and eye catching piece. The Duo Lamp is available in two sizes, large and small, each of which are equally at home on an office desk, a side table or a kitchen worktop and can also be fixed in place making it ideal for restaurant booth tables. Tom, a practising architect, set up Hand & Eye Studio in 2011 and has since developed a small but carefully crafted range of work. Each item is designed by the studio and then produced in collaboration with small British manufacturers, all of whom are masters of their craft. Tom Housden set up the Hand & Eye design studio in 2011. The studio was borne out of the desire to reacquaint designer and maker so that the designer is not separated from the physical process of making. Hand & Eye projects are developed from drawing stage right through to the making and manufacturing process. This method allows Tom to make subtle judgements in shape, space, texture and colour that could otherwise be missed. The studio has also established a diverse range of collaborators and workshops around the UK and Europe and is creating some amazing work.
