The Utility Quilt has been designed as a hardy blanket to keep you warm and cosy whether in bed, on the sofa in front of the fire, or even sat around the campfire in the great outdoors. Using the traditional 'Octagon' quilt block to make a graphic cross gives this quilt a classic, bold design. Handmade by Abigail Booth of Walthamstow based Forest-and-Found using heavy weight cotton and raw calico, each quilt is machine pieced and then lovingly hand quilted using Japanese Sashiko thread. Abigail uses a pure cotton batting to line the inside the quilt for added durability and warmth. To finish them they are hand bound with a double fold binding with mitred corners. Abigail also uses all natural dyes in the making of her quilts. With each quilt taking a week to make, they are fantastic combination of craftsmanship and beautiful design.
