Sisteron Throw - Orange Edge

by Teixidors

£235.00 £185.00 - Sold Out

This handwoven merino wool throw is really special and extremely soft to touch. Part of homeware collection, the Teixidors throws can be used on your sofa or as blankets for your bed (click here for more sofa throws and bed blankets). The luxury throws are made from 100% ecological merino wool sourced from a small farm high in the Pyrenees in France. The sheep are raised using traditional environmentally friendly practices and the fleeces are processed without mixing wools of other origins. The farm supply wool to no-one other than Teixidors, who then hand weave the wool to create these stunning throws. Since its foundation in 1983, Teixidors has been a non-profit organisation with a clear social vocation geared towards improving the economic independence and social integration of people with learning difficulties. Read more about Teixidors and their beautiful throws and blankets in the Designers & Makers section of our Journal by clicking here.

Teixidors not only creates beautiful woven items but also has a great story behind the company. Based outside of Barcelona, Spain, it is an impressive organisation with two main goals, to help people with learning difficulties and to make the highest quality textiles possible from the finest natural materials.

The company, a not-for-profit organisation, is thirty years old this year and appears to be achieving both goals.
