Small Terracotta Pendant

by Hand & Eye Studio

£215.00 £150.00

Designed by Thomas Housden at the Hand & Eye Studio, these handmade terracotta pendants combines the warm hues of kiln-fired terracotta with a simple white glaze. The smallest of the three lights in the lighting range, the cylindrical pendant creates a beautifully warm directional light that is ideally suited as a focused light source. These are simple yet very striking pendant lights and look great on their own or used in multiples over a bar or dining table. Tom has fused the old and new by using one of the oldest building materials in existence to create this range of modern terracotta pendants and Such & Such are delighted to have obtained a limited number of the lights. Click here to read our interview with Tom Housden of the Hand & Eye studio in the Designers and Makers section of our Journal.

Tom Housden set up the Hand & Eye design studio in 2011. The studio was borne out of the desire to reacquaint designer and maker so that the designer is not separated from the physical process of making. Hand & Eye projects are developed from drawing stage right through to the making and manufacturing process. This method allows Tom to make subtle judgements in shape, space, texture and colour that could otherwise be missed. The studio has also established a diverse range of collaborators and workshops around the UK and Europe and is creating some amazing work.
