Designed by Reiko Kaneko and handmade in Staffordshire, England, these unique and beautiful stepped rice bowls are as aesthetically pleasing as they are functional. A versatile bowl for cereal, rice, soup or our favourite, Apple Crumble! The fine bone china bowls make a fantastic addition to our tableware collection and are dishwasher and microwave safe. British-Japanese designer, Reiko Kaneko, set-up her studio in 2007 and creates beautiful pieces combining Japanese aesthetics with the craftsmanship and quality of bone china made in England. After leaving Central Saint Martins College, London, Reiko Kaneko, a British-Japanese designer set up her studio in 2007 in the East End of London. She was soon making a name for herself and becoming well known for her quirky and humorous gift pieces.
Recently Reiko has moved her business to Stoke on Trent, also known as “the potteries”. The area is considered by many as the birthplace of bone china as a result of the fact that Josiah Spode, in the late eighteenth century, created a new formula to produce bone china and ”the potteries” became the main centre for its production in the world.
