Thor Blanket

by Teixidors

£298.00 £245.00

Wrap yourself up and keep warm in this beautiful, soft and thick merino wool blanket. A neutral colour with a bordeaux coloured edge made using natural dye, the blanket can be used on your bed or as a large throw for your sofa (click here for more sofa throws and bed throws). The luxury wool blankets are made by Teixidors from 100% ecological merino wool sourced from a small farm high in the Pyrenees in France. The sheep are raised using traditional environmentally friendly practices and the fleeces are processed without mixing wools of other origins. The farm supply wool to no-one other than Teixidors, who then hand weave the wool to create these stunning blankets. Since its foundation in 1983, Teixidors has been a non-profit organisation with a clear social vocation geared towards improving the economic independence and social integration of people with learning difficulties. THE DESIGNER

Teixidors not only creates beautiful woven items but also has a great story behind the company. Based outside of Barcelona, Spain, it is an impressive organisation with two main goals, to help people with learning difficulties and to make the highest quality textiles possible from the finest natural materials.

The company, a not-for-profit organisation, is thirty years old this year and appears to be achieving both goals.
